Mortensen will play Sigmund Freud in Cronenberg's upcoming drama about the conflict between Freud and his pupil Jung. Mortensen joins Michael Fassbender (as Jung) and Keira Knightley (who will play Sabina, a disturbed young woman brought to see Jung by her father). Oscar winner Christoph Waltz was in talks to play Freud but decided to leave the project.
