Columbia in talks with Nicolas Cage and "Crank" directors Neveldine and Taylor for "Ghost Rider 2"

Columbia Pictures is hunting down a director for "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," the sequel to their blockbuster "Ghost Rider" which starred Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze, the stunt motorcyclist who transforms into a fire-blazing demon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is talking to Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the film-makers behind the "Crank" series, about taking on the directing duties. And Columbia is also negotiating with Cage to come back for the sequel. So far, the project is new but the studio is hoping to start production in late fall.
