About three weeks ago, news came out about how Warner Bros' has started moving forward on the "Logan's Run" remake. According to the reports, the studio was talking to commercial director Carl Erik Rinsch about helming the project with the help from a couple heavy weight producers, Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman. And although the film is still in the early stages, it seems the studio has taken another step and found a screenwriter, or at least talking to him: Alex Garland, the writer of Danny Boyle's zombie hit, "28 Days Later" and Boyle's sci-fi thriller "Sunshine." If hired, Garland would work off from William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson's original book rather than the 1976 sci-fi film that starred Michael York. The Hollywood Reporter has the whole story.
